Connecting Children Project is using cycling to make a real difference to young lives. Based in Morecambe, the club's focus is on raising funds to provide internet access to children in need, connecting them with education, family, and opportunities. The club brings together cycling enthusiasts who want to contribute to a worthwhile cause while enjoying the open road.
The club’s activities centre around touring and social rides. Members are currently focused on hypothetically cycling the 400 miles from the Eden Project in Cornwall, to the new Eden Project site in Morecambe, all to raise money for their cause. Every pedal stroke brings them closer to their fundraising goal.
The core mission is to provide free internet access for children who do not have it. Just £10 will provide one child with internet access for a year. Connecting Children Project is supported by Lancaster University, Lancaster and Morecambe College, Lancaster City Council, Eden Project, Lancaster and Morecambe Primary and Secondary Schools, Stone Group and Tech hub.
Connecting Children Project offers cyclists a chance to combine their love of riding with a passion for helping others. If you're looking for a club with a purpose, and enjoy touring and social rides in the Morecambe area, get in touch and see how you can contribute.
